Support our thriving DFW Filipino American Community!
An Editorial: After a long hiatus and work behind the scenes, there are several updates we'd like to present, along with many upcoming projects for our community!
Published August 16, 2025.
It’s been quite some time since the last Bayanihan article was published! We thank you for your patience, we have several upcoming projects and website revisions coming up as a thank you for your continued support!
Much of these changes come in direct support from the Filipino Town Hall that recently took place, where several leaders and community members came together to voice community needs and opinions.
First and foremost- The Bayanihan Press has returned! We will begin publishing once a week from now on starting August 22nd. We anticipate stories will be released every Friday, focusing on concerns and topics of interest to the Filipino American Community.
Secondly, we are currently in the middle of a website transition, where we hope to develop a Digital Community Center. We understand while we do not have a physical space, there’s nothing stopping us from developing an online community space. New website designs and changes aim to to support a one-stop online hub that celebrates culture, shares resources, and strengthens connections. With directories, partner spotlights, event listings, and opportunities to volunteer or donate, the site will serve as both a cultural archive and a living space where community members can engage, learn, and contribute. The goal is to create a welcoming, accessible platform that reflects the diversity, resilience, and pride of the Filipino community in North Texas.
Some of our upcoming additions we want to include:
A centralized calendar between all participating Filipino American businesses and organizations, with RSVP integration and event submissions.
A historical timeline of the Filipino community in DFW, with submissions for events.
Opportunity listings for volunteer and employment within Filipino American spaces.
A spotlight section to focus on community members, nonprofits, artists, and leaders.
A Community Resource Guides to include:
Educational support
Health Access
Voter support
Transportation guidance
Local recipes page
An improved Filipino Directory
A community metrics page with testimonials/success stories about our community.
Improved SEO and UX/UI
These updates will take time to include, but we expect to implement the baseline of these additions before Lone Star Palengke 2025! Most of what you see on the website is solely implemented by myself when I sparingly have the free time, but I’m dedicating these next three months to making sure these changes happen with the support of our new staff! We’ll be working hard to support and unite our community.
For our community,
Andre Averion. Communications Chair of the Pilipino American Community Endeavor
