Dickey's Barbecue Pit, a Dallas-based restaurant chain renowned for its authentic Texas-style barbecue, has officially opened its first location in the Philippines, marking a significant expansion into Southeast Asia. The inaugural restaurant is situated in the PARQAL Mall in Parañaque, a southern suburb of Manila.
The grand opening event, held on January 26, 2025, was attended by key figures including Max Lee, vice-chairman and executive chef of G2G All Spice Eatery Group Inc., the local franchise partner; Rommel Ng, president of G2G; Jim Perkins, executive vice-president of international sales and support for Dickey's USA; and Cocoy Wenceslao, vice-president for logistics at DM Wenceslao and Associates Inc.
"The Philippines is known for its food culture, and we’re excited to be part of that," said Perkins. "We believe our slow-smoked barbecue and dedication to quality will resonate with the local market."
This Philippine debut is part of Dickey's broader strategy to introduce its signature slow-smoked meats and Southern hospitality to international markets. The Manila location is among a select few globally to offer a full-service dining experience, combining the brand's traditional barbecue offerings with an elevated sit-down concept. The menu features Dickey's classics such as slow-smoked brisket, ribs, and sausage, alongside exclusive items tailored to local tastes.
Lee, who also operates several successful Dickey's franchises in San Francisco, leads the Philippine expansion. He expressed enthusiasm about introducing Texas-style barbecue to the Filipino market while incorporating unique elements to enhance the dining experience.
"We are excited to bring the authentic Texas barbecue experience to the Philippines, offering a variety of classic Dickey's barbecue options, including our signature slow-smoked brisket and ribs," Lee said. "We believe the Philippines offers a fantastic opportunity to introduce Texas flavors to an entirely new market."
The opening festivities included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment, and exclusive tastings of Dickey's signature dishes, generating excitement among the local community. G2G executives have indicated plans for additional locations in key areas of the capital, signaling a commitment to establishing a strong presence in the Philippines.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit's entry into the Philippines aligns with its ongoing international growth strategy, which has seen the brand establish locations in Japan, Singapore, and Pakistan. The company continues to explore opportunities to share its authentic Texas barbecue experience with new markets worldwide.
Founded in 1941 by the Dickey family, Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. has grown into the world's largest barbecue concept, remaining a third-generation family-run business. For over 80 years, the brand has been committed to serving authentic, slow-smoked barbecue, emphasizing quality and community in every location.
As Dickey's continues its global expansion, the company remains dedicated to delivering genuine flavors, warm hospitality, and memorable dining experiences to each community it serves.
